The Land River Defender – A Truly Off-Road SUV

If you’re looking for a truly off-road SUV that can do everything, the land river defender is the way to go. It’s not conventionally luxurious, but it does have genuine off-road capability that will keep you out of trouble in the wildest of terrains.

Why is Land Rover Defender expensive?

There are three body styles in the land river defender range – the short-wheelbase 90, the 110 with a five-door configuration and the 130 which adds a third row. Each has their own distinct character and is available with a number of unique trims.

The Defender’s interior is a mixture of soft-touch leather and rugged-feeling plastics. The dashboard features a big Defender logo and gets a powder-coated finish. The seats are comfortable and a new man-made leather option called ‘Resist’ has a lower carbon footprint than cow-skin.

Safety is an important consideration for any off-roader and the land river defender comes well equipped with active safety features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and a surround-view parking camera system. There’s also an adaptive cruise control and a Wi-Fi hot spot as standard.

Backseat Space

Despite its short wheelbase, the Defender 90 offers decent rear seating comfort for taller passengers. However, getting in and out of the back seat is a bit of a stretch.

Powertrains

The base P300 is a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder that makes 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Alternatively, there’s a 3.0-liter inline-six or a 518-hp V8.
